Fanatics acquired PointsBet USA from Australian sports betting company PointsBet Holdings for $225 million after beating out competitor DraftKings (Nasdaq: DKNG) in a bidding war. DraftKings drove the price up post-signing by announcing a competing bid. Fanatics had to turn on a dime to increase its offer by $75 million to secure the deal.
