“Clamoring to be the loudest person in the room” is not the way to bring more women into the middle market, says Suzie Doran of SingerLewak, in this video interview shot at ACG InterGrowth 2018. Doran serves as president of ACG Los Angeles, which recently took the Women of ACG Los Angeles on a private viewing of the 100th Anniversary Exhibition of King Tut at the California Science Center. “We're about making connections and being able to take those connections to the next level.”

The first time I went and networking, I actually would read the sports pages.

I didn't know what I was talking about and some guys that did you just read the sports page before you came again? Because you sound really an authentic and that's what I've learned is being a CG President.

We have 23 people on our board and three are women and we all are able to hold our own because we know who we are and what we do so we recently did an event where we were at the Natural History Museum and we actually saw the King Tut exhibit and it was amazing.

And you know, what was great about it was you were with very successful wonderful woman who really wanted to empower other women they were able to share their thoughts and wasn't in a room where you were like clamoring to be the loudest person in the room and you were able to just connect and I think that's what we're about.

We're about making connections and being able to take those connections and take them to the next level.
