"There's always room for private equity firms that are trying to serve underserved niches in the market," said Lorn Davis, co-founder of College Hill Capital Partners, one of Mergers & Acquisitions’ 10 young and thriving PE firms. "We're not the only firm that discovered that there is an underserved niche in non-control equity capital,” said Davis at ACG Boston’s DealSource Select.
"There is some hesistancy in cross border given the new administration," says Nixon Peabody's Adam Gwaltney at ACG Boston's DealSource select. "I would say the levels of activity are down somewhat from 2016."
“On the supply side, we have about 60 percent of the 15 million privately-held businesses in the U.S. are owned by business owners born before 1964,” says Christopher Nicholas, Shields & Co., at ACG Boston’s DealSource Select. "We’re seeing a very robust deal environment.”
