Roughly 900 dealmaking New Yorkers will have to wait a little bit longer to sip their celebratory Chardonnay and Bordeaux.

With the power out and mass transit systems inoperable in the days following Hurricane Sandy, ACG New York wisely decided to reschedule its Tenth Annual Private Equity Wine Tasting Gala, the chapter's largest gathering of the year.

Forty-four private equity exhibitors from the Tri-state area are expected to participate. Each will provide two different wines. Featured wines include: '86 D'Yquem, '89 Chateau Margaux, '96 Lynch Bages,'08 Shafer and '63 Grahams Vintage Port. The evening promises many opportunities for interacting with PE executives, investment bankers, M&A consultants and transactional advisers from 450-plus firms.

The event, originally slated for Nov. 1, will now take place on Dec. 10. The venue remains the same, Gotham Hall, the classic former headquarters of Greenwich Savings Bank.

In a letter written to attendees, ACG New York president Martin Okner (pictured) noted the damage throughout the Tri-State area and said the chapter will cover the storage of any marketing materials that were sent from private equity exhibitors and sponsors to the venue.

"Our thoughts are with everyone for a quick recovery and rebuilding, and we sincerely look forward to seeing you all on December 10th," he adds.
