Private equity firm Windjammer Capital Investors has acquired Engineered Controls International LLC.

Elon, N.C.-based Engineered Controls provides specialized pressure regulators, valves and other control equipment used in transportation, delivery and storage or propane, liquefied natural gas and other gases. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Newport Beach, Calif.-based Windjammer invested in Component Hardware Group Inc. in July, and Global Claims Services Inc. in June of 2012. In March, the firm closed a $726 million fund. 

Engineered Controls was backed by New York private equity firm Sentinel Capital Partners. Sentinel is invested in several specialty industrial businesses, including Alemite, an industrial lubrication equipment business, Chromalox, a precision heating technology group, and LTI Boyd, which makes rubber and plastic sealing systems.

Robert W. Baird & Co. advised Sentinel Capital Partners on the deal. Choate Hall & Stewart LLP provided legal advice to Windjammer.
