Wiley Rein LLP, a Washington D.C.-based law firm, has wrapped up its acquisition of the lobbying firm McBee Strategic.

Terms of the deal remain undisclosed. McBee reportedly earned $10.4 million in revenues from lobbying in 2013.

The agreement allows McBee to operate independently from Wiley Rein while expanding its capabilities in the regulatory space.

Eric Bovim, a McBee managing director, says the deal allows the target to tap Wiley's "roster of counselors to bear across client issues."

McBee’s founder, Steve McBee, left his namesake firm in November when the transaction was first announced. He later joined the power company NRG Energy Inc. (NYSE: NRG) as a senior executive.

In addition to traditional lobbying, his firm grew to include other business units as well. They include a research and analytics group, as well as a government capital group that assists business owners in attaining government grants.

In 2012, McBee purchased public affairs outfit Gibraltar Associates.
