Boston private equity firm WestView Capital Management Inc. has closed a $430 million fund.

The fund, WestView Capital Partners III LP, will invest in middle market companies. Investors in the fund include endowments, public and private pensions, fund or funds and family offices, as well as former and current portfolio company executives.

The third fun exceeds the firm’s second fund by $105 million.

WestView Capital Partners II LP closed in 2009 with $325 million in committed capital. That fund exceeded the firm’s first fund, which closed in September 2005, by $130 million.

Westview has about $1 billion in capital under management. The firm generally commits between $10 million and $40 million to each investment.

Goodwin Proctor was WestView’s counsel in connection with the fund. The closing was announced Nov. 11.
