Technology-focused private equity firm Vector Capital is buying IPValue Management Inc. for an undisclosed amount.
The target, founded in 2001, provides intellectual property transactional and advisory services for technology companies, research and development labs, and other developers of intellectual property. Santa Clara, California-based IPValue attempts to help clients generate revenue from under-monetized patents through licensing or sales efforts.
Vector Capital, headquartered in San Francisco, is currently invested in 20-20 Technologies Inc., Technicolor and other technology businesses. Vector sold software company Certara to Arsenal Capital Partners in December.
The firm won Mergers & Acquisitions Mid-Market Seller of the Year award in 2013 after it exited four investments and recapitalized two others.
