Ally Commercial Finance LLC — The firm appointed Craig Nalitt senior director of business development in the New York region, where he will work with private equity firms and financial advisers. He replaces Don Giuseppi, who is recently retired. Nalitt has more than 12 years of leveraged lending, primarily in underwriting and managing loans provided to middle market companies. He began his career at Bank One in 1998, and held numerous positions over the years since joining Ally Commercial Finance, a unit of Ally Financial Inc., in November 2000. The lender also hired Daniel Duffy (pictured) as a senior managing director in Chicago. He is expected to work with private equity firms and lead Ally’s origination efforts in the Midwest. Over the course of 25 years, Duffy held a number of leadership positions at various shops, including Monroe Capital LLC, CapitalSource Corporate Finance LLC, Heller Financial Inc. and GE Capital.


Asante Capital — The London-based private equity placement agent poached associate Parik Chandra from Barclays plc, where he was a director within the bank’s real estate restructuring team.


CIT Group Inc. —The small business lender named Bryan Allen executive vice president and global head of human resources effective July 9. Prior to CIT, Allen served as chief human resources officer for Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. Before that, he was managing director at U.S. Trust and held a number of business management positions at Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC.


Harris Williams & Co. –The middle market investment bank announced four new hires. Jason Bass and Frank Mountcastle have joined Harris Williams’ transportation and logistics group as managing directors, while Jershon Jones and Jeff Burkett come on board as vice presidents.


Houlihan Lokey —Linda Maxwell has joined the investment bank’s aerospace, defense and government (ADG) group in Washington, D.C. She will report to senior managing director Anita Antenucci . Maxwell previously spent 12-years at Jefferies & Co. Roger Christopher was also hired for Houlihan’s ADG group in Washington. He joins from KPMG Corporate Finance where he was a vice president involved on the sell-side of defense sector deals. Before that, he was a vice president at Stifel Nicolaus and Co.


ISB Community Bank — Robert Buerger was appointed senior vice president and chief lending officer. A 25-year veteran of commercial lending, Buerger will be responsible for ISB’s commercial lending activities. Buerger was formerly senior vice president and head of business and commercial banking strategy for BMO Harris Bank. Prior to that, he spent 10 years with M&I Bank in Milwaukee, most recently as the head of corporate banking.


Lightyear Capital LLC — The private equity firm named Jerry Miller, former President and chief executive of Van Kampen Investments, senior adviser on behalf of its affiliated funds. Prior to Van Kampen, Miller was a director at Morgan Stanley’s global wealth management group. Prior to that, Miller was at Merrill Lynch with a variety of leadership roles over the course of 21 years.


Neuberger Berman Group LLC — The New York-based asset management company appointed Jenny Segal as managing director in London. Segal, who joins from financial services group Old Mutual plc, will serve as head of institutional Europe.


Newedge UK Financial Ltd. — Peter Barrowcliff has joined the brokerage firm's metals desk in London as global chief operating officer. At this post, Barrowcliff will be responsible for credit, technology and product development. Previously, he was with Nomura Asia Ltd. Barrowcliff spent the first five years of his career trading at the London Metal Exchange, before becoming a senior member of the futures team at Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.


Paulson Investment Co. — The investment bank subsidiary of Paulson Capital Corp. announced two new hires. The Portland, Ore.-based company named Brian Hagen chief compliance officer and Chris Clark a senior managing director. Before joining Paulson, Hagen led his own securities consulting practice. At his new post, he will work to keep Paulson in compliance with FINRA securities regulations. Clark, previously with Advanced Equities Inc., is a 20-year banking veteran.


Perkins Coie — The Seattle law firm hired Kester Spindler to work in the Denver and New York offices as a partner in the private equity practice. Spindler joins the firm from Kirkland & Ellis LLP in New York. Spindler’s practice covers a variety of industries, including healthcare, retail, media, manufacturing, financial services, energy and technology.


Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP — The law firm opened a Chicago office with five new attorneys from K&L Gates, including Terrence Budny, Lawrence Eppley, Patrick Maloney, Paul Metzger and Kenneth Peterson. Kevin Cloutier also joins the firm from the Chicago office of Winston & Strawn. D. Ronald Ryland, the firm's general counsel, was tapped to work at the new location as well, and is relocating from San Francisco.
