Dallas private equity firm Trive Capital has combined Coast Plating Inc. and Chrome Plus International Inc. to form Valence Surface Technologies.

Valence is an independently owned aerospace and defense metal processing company. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Coast Plating, headquartered in Los Angeles., provides metal processing and finishing services, while Wichita, Kan.-based Chrome provides chrome coating, repair, metal grinding and other services. The deal closed in December, but was announced March 4. 

Salem Partners acted as the adviser for Coast Plating and Chrome Plus shareholders.

Trive Capital focuses on control investments in companies based in the U.S. and Canada.

Recent aerospace-related acquisitions have come from Wesco Aircraft Holdings Inc. (NYSE: WAIR), which bought Haas Group Inc., which provides services to several industries, including aerosapce.
