TigerLogic Corp. (Nasdaq: TIGR) will buy Storycode Inc., a mobile application publishing studio, for an undisclosed amount.

Storycode developed a mobile publishing platform that helps companies to create and publish applications for various mobile platforms, including the iPhone, iPad, Kindle Fire and Android.

Among its more notable users are The Independent, CBS, NBC and Thomson Reuters use Storycode’s products.

Irvine, Calif.-based TigerLogic provides data management and application development services to companies looking to launch electronic business initiatives.  

"With TigerLogic's acquisition of Storycode, we believe we will be well positioned to close the social media communications gap between consumers and brands," says Richard Koe ,TigerLogic 's interim chief executive.

TigerLogic plans to integrate Storycode into its Postano social visualization service, which it launched in June 2011. Postano allows brands to consolidate their activity from across the Web by incorporating their posts to social-media sources—Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Tumblr and Google News—onto their own websites.
