Nuance Communications Inc. has acquired Accentus from private equity firm High Road Capital Partners.

Accentus, headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, provides medical transcription, document imaging and remote coding technology to hospitals and doctors in the U.S. and Canada.

Burlington, Mass.-based Nuance develops voice-enabled clinical documentation software for healthcare professionals.

This is the second exit for the firm’s first fund, High Road Capital Partners Fund I LP. The first was Milwaukee Gear in February. Accentus’ revenue and EBITDA increased by 400 percent while High Road owned the company.

New York-based High Road Capital was started in 2007 and manages more than $150 million in committed capital.
