Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) will acquire StorSimple Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

StorSimple, headquartered in Santa Clara, Calif., provides cloud-integrated storage services for Windows. The deal was announced Oct. 16.

Microsoft, based in Redmond, Wash., hopes the deal helps customers embrace cloud computing.
