Dell Inc. (Nasdaq: DELL) has completed its $2.4 billion acquisition of Quest Software, an information-technology management software company.

The software aims to simplify and solve common and challenging IT problems for organizations.

The purchase price included $28 in cash per share, plus debt, for an aggregate price of about $2.4 billion, according to Securities and Exchange Commission filings.

Dell, headquartered in Round Rock, Texas, makes computers, software and electronics for people, businesses and government organizations.
