Black Diamond Inc. (Nasdaq: BDE) has completed its acquisition of Pieps GmbH, which makes snow-safety products, for $10.4 million.
The deal was announced on Sept. 24. Black Diamond also acquired Pieps Holding GmbH.
Peips, headquartered in Lebring, Austria, makes alpine safety equipment, including avalanche transceivers and probes, shovels, safety equipment, packs and satellite-based messaging devices.
Black Diamond will assume $2.7 million in debt through the deal, and could pay up to $3 million more if the targets meet sales goals.
Salt Lake City-based Black Diamond makes products for climbing, backpacking skiing and other outdoor recreation activities.
