FoodLink, a company that connects fresh food retailers and wholesalers to a network of suppliers, agreed to acquire Truetrac for an undisclosed price.

The Salinas, Calif.-based target provides mobile traceability services to fresh produce growers, harvesters, packers and shippers.

The combined company is expected to improve each company’s network of produce traceability by linking the various stages of crop planning: order management, shipping, receiving and individual item tracking.

Truetrac’s customers, which include Del Monte, Duda Farm Fresh Foods, Pandol Brothers, are able to access customer feedback and other types of data online. Los Gatos, Calif.-based FoodLink currently provides similar services, counting K-VA-T Food Stores, Price Chopper Supermarkets and Roundy’s Supermarkets among its most notable clients.
