I-5 Publishing LLC has acquired the books, magazines and websites of BowTie Inc., which includes brands like Cat Fancy and Dog Fancy.

BowTie’s magazines include Horse Illustrated, Urban Farm, Pet Product News International. Its websites include AnimalNetwork.com and DogChannel.com, while its book brands include “Dog Heroes of September 11th” and “The Original Dog Bible.”

Irvine, Calif.-based I-5 is a joint venture formed by David Fry and Mark Harris. Harris is the co-founder of National Publisher Services, a publishing manager, and Fry is the chief technology officer of Fry Communications, a privately-held integrated communications company.

The company plans to form partnerships with brands to expand its offerings. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
