Tell us about yourself.

I lead a team of professionals through sellside and buyside transactions involving closely held, founder and family-owned businesses with transaction values ranging from $15 million to $250 million.

I am a CPA who spent two decades as a business owner. When I sold my business, I remember waking up in the middle of the night fearful and uncertain whether I was making the right decision. After that fitful moment, I ultimately ended up going through several business exits as well as the purchase of another company. I intimately understand what it’s like to sell something that you’ve poured your heart, soul and sweat into and not having anyone to call for help.

Describe a recent dealmaking accomplishment.

The most important dealmaking accomplishment was representing a family-owned, second-generation printing and packaging company during the recapitalization of the organization. We are thrilled to have helped the owners through the transition to ensure the family values live on and the high standards set forth are continued.

How are you a champion of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI)?

As a board member for nine years and venture track advisor and inaugural board chair for BizStarts for the past two years, I share my expertise to mentor startups in underserved communities. The organization works to educate and support aspiring entrepreneurs in the disadvantaged neighborhoods of southeastern Wisconsin. I also instruct a session of The BizStarts Institute Bootcamp, which offers an education, accountability, and long-term coaching model to help disadvantaged entrepreneurs gain the confidence, expertise and resources to build a profitable venture.
