Private equity firm Sun Capital Partners Inc. is buying retail business Gem Shopping Network.

Duluth, Ga.-based Gem Shopping specializes in selling unique colored gemstones and jewelry, primarily through its live television network.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Sun Capital has invested in other retail business, including retailers Shopko, The Limited, Hanna Andersson, Vince, and Scotch & Soda. The Boca Raton, Fla.-based firm has invested in more than 325 companies since it was founded in 1995.

In August, one of Sun Capital’s portfolio companies, Heartland Automotive Services Inc., closed a deal for 33 Jiffy Lube locations. Also in August, the firm sold packaged soup company the Harris Soup Co. In June, the firm bought burger chain Johnny Rockets.
