Sentinel Capital Partners has acquired PlayCore, which makes recreation products.

PlayCore, headquartered in Chattanooga, Tennessee, designs and builds commercial playground, park, recreation, performance and specialty equipment. Products include modular play structures to theme-based play environments. The company also makes picnic tables, benches, bleachers, bike racks and outdoor fitness stations. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

New York private equity firm Sentinel has invested in specialty industrial businesses before. The firm is currently invested in Chase Doors, which manufactures door systems and Trussbilt, which makes steel security products. The firm focuses on buying lower middle-market companies in the U.S. and Canada. Recently, the firm agreed to buy TGI Fridays in connection with TriArtisan Capital Partners. Before that, Sentinel closed a deal for Newk's Holding Co. LLC, which operates restaurant franchise Newk's Eatery
