The Riverside Co. has acquired Protexer Inc., which does business as Bootie Butler, to add to Team Technologies.
Knoxville, Tennessee-based Bootie Butler sells shoe covers and dispensers that allow medical workers and others to protect their footwear without the need to touch the covers with their hands. The products, known as booties, are used by the industrial, medical and food-service industries. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Team Technologies, which Riverside invested in in December 2012, manufactures dental, cosmetic and medical products. Riverside plans to make further add-on acquisitions to the company.
The Cleveland and New York-based private equity firm's acquisition of Bootie Butler comes on the heels adding JobTarget's career center business unit to YourMembership.com, announced on Sept. 15. The JobTarget unit provides software for job seekers. Riverside also recently invested in Tate's Bake Shop Inc. and craft beer brewery Uinta Brewing Co. The firm's co-CEOs won Mergers & Acquisitions M&A Mid-Market Dealmakers of the Year Award for 2013.
GE Capital led the financing for the Bootie Butler deal. Jones Day and KPMG advised Riverside.
