Private equity firm the Riverside Co. has acquired ProSites Inc., which specializes in medical and dental website design.

Temecula, Calif.-based ProSites will be merged with CPASiteSolutions, one of Riverside’s portfolio companies. CPASiteSolutions provides websites for the accounting industry.

Riverside, headquartered in New York, focuses on acquiring businesses valued at up to $250 million. The firm has invested in more than 310 transactions since its founding in 1988. Riverside made its first investment in New Zealand by buying Simcro Ltd. in July. In June, the firm bought Jacosoft LLC, a company that delivers emergency notifications.
