New York and Cleveland-based private equity firm the Riverside Co. has purchased Catalyst Awareness for an undisclosed amount.
Catalyst, headquartered in Guelph, Ontario, makes employee-awareness communications programs, including workplace safety and loss prevention, for retailers. The company’s customers include Fortune 500 companies. Catalyst will be added to Alchemy Systems, which Riverside has owned since January.
Austin, Texas-based Alchemy makes technology that aims to teach a company’s employees about safety practices. The deal should expand the company’s customer base. Terms were not disclosed.
The deal comes one day after Riverside announced the acquisition of NJoy Baby SL, which was added to Baby Jogger.
The firm focuses on buying businesses valued up to $250 million, and has invested in more than 320 deals since it was founded in 1988.
