Rite Aid Corp. (NYSE: RAD) has acquired RediClinic, a retail clinic operator.

RediClinic, headquartered in Houston, operates 30 walk-in health care clinics in Texas. The company will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rite Aid. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Drugstore chain Rite Aid, headquartered in Camp Hill, Pa., expects to expand RediClinic's Texas footprint. On April 1, the company announced a deal for Boston-based Health Dialog Services Corp., which provides health coaching services.

Other health care companies have also been attracted to clinics. In December, private equity firm New Harbor Capital LLC bought PT Solutions Holdings LLC, which operates outpatient clinics.

Before that, in October, ATI Physical Therapy bought North River Physical Therapy, which operates rehabilitation and sports medicine clinics.
