Private equity firm Renovus Capital Partners has acquired the Baron Group for an undisclosed price.

Based in Westport, Conn., Baron is a provider of sales training services. It was founded by Eric Baron, author of books that focus on team sales training.Renovus facilitated the purchase through portfolio company Ariel Group LLC, a communication skills training company based in Lexington, Mass., which it acquired in 2012.

The deal marks yet another push by Renovus into the education space. Most recently, the Wynnewood, Pa.-based firm teamed with Argosy Private Equity and BB&T Capital Partners to buy Linkage Inc., a provider of leadership training and development programs, from Chicago-based PE fund Prospect Partners II LP, in July.

Renovus isn't the only private equity firm active in the education sector. In September, Riverside Co. purchased Corporate Training Technologies LLC to add to portfolio company OnCourse Learning.
