Precision Engineered Products LLC has closed a deal for several Advanced Precision Products units: Holmed, HowesTemco, Premco and Profiles.

Holmed manufactures orthopedic surgical instruments and spinal implants; HowesTemco makes medical machined parts; Premco products multi-axis machined parts with a focus on difficult-to-form metals; Profiles cold-rolls metals into precise shapes.

The brands, which are based in Palmer, Massachusetts, add to Advanced Precisions’manufacturing portfolio with complex metal machining and cold-forming technologies. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The Attleboro, Massachusetts-based buyer makes plastic and metal components used in medical and surgical devices. Precision Engineered previously picked up Connecticut Plastics, which makes plastics used in electronics and medical products, in March. Buyers have been scooping up medical device companies. In August, Covidien plc (NYSE: COV) agreed to buy Sapheon Inc., which makes a system to treat patients with varicose veins. Also in August, Genstar Capital agreed to buy the equipment manufacturing business of Symmetry Medical.
