Clarus Ventures — The Cambridge, Massachusetts-based investment firm promoted Scott Requadt to managing director. Requadt joined the firm as a principal in 2005. He was promoted to partner in 2010.


Friedman Fleischer & Lowe (FFL) — The San Francisco private equity firm promoted Chris Harris, Greg Lau and Greg Long to managing director. Harris, who serves on the boards of Eyemart Express and Strategic Investment Group, was previously a director of TriTech Holdings. He joined FFL in 2008 from Boston-based Berkshire Partners, where he served as an associate. Lau returns to firm. He previously served on the board of GeoVera Insurance Group and was active in the firm's investments in Tempur-Pedic and Transtar. He joined FFL in 2000 as an associate, and returned in 2006 after attending business school. Previously, he worked at Procter & Gamble and Exergen Corp. Long currently serves on several boards, including those of American Advisors Group, C.H.I. Overhead Doors, and Icynene. He joined FFL in 2006 from the Parthenon Group, a strategy consulting firm, where he worked as a senior associate.


Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP — The Los Angeles-based law firm hired Robson Lee as a partner in its Singapore office.  Previously, he was with law firm Shook Lin & Bok, also in Singapore.


Riverside Partners — The Boston-based private equity firm, which focuses on middle-market health care and technology companies, announced several promotions. Michelle Noon and Max Osofsky were both called up to partner. Noon and Osofsky each joined Riverside in 2008. Craig Stern has been named principal. Previously, he was vice president of corporate development at Nextag Inc., a technology and e-commerce company, where he was responsible for sourcing deals.


Sail Capital Partners Ltd. — The Irvine, California-based merchant bank has set up shop in London. Eric Warner will be in charge of the office as managing director. The announcement comes on the heels of a newly-formed partnership with consultancy firm Frost & Sullivan. Sail’s U.K. presence will be used to source new investment opportunities abroad, specifically in the energy sector. Prior to joining Sail, Warner was co-CEO at Altius Associates and European head of PE at consulting firm Mercer Ltd. He has also held several positions at various investment banks, including Société Générale, NatWest Capital Markets and Security Pacific Hoare Govett Ltd.


Schiff Hardin LLP — The New York law firm promoted four attorneys to partner. They include Ronald Gaither, Lynn Watkins, Jill Berry and Jeffrey Skinner. Separately, Schiff Hardin hired Ahmed Riaz as an associate in the intellectual property group. He previously served as legal affairs counsel and intellectual property and business development manager for Antares Pharma Inc., based in Ewing, New Jersey.


Sideman & Bancroft LLP— The San Francisco-based law firm has made three new hires. Attorneys Kathryn McCall, Maria Garrett (pictured) and Ryan Fox have each joined the firm. McCall has agreed to take on the role of partner within Sideman’s business group. Meanwhile Garrett and Ryan join the roster as associates within the family law segment and intellectual property practice, respectively.
