Damballa Inc. — The Atlanta-based tech security company—backed by investors Sigma Partners, Adams Street Partners and Blumberg Capital—named David Scholtz as the company’s chief executive. Scholtz previously served as the company’s vice president of global sales and alliances. Prior to joining Damballa, Scholtz held executive leadership positions at McAfee Inc. and Mercury Systems Inc. Scholtz began his career at Accenture plc (NYSE: ACN), later sold enterprise software and was a founder and CEO in two technology startups. His positions as president and chief executive officer and as a director on the Damballa board are effective immediately.

Holland & Knight LLP — The Tampa, Fla.-based law firm picked up five real estate attorneys from rival Florida firm Broad and Cassel. The team includes partners Vivian de las Cuevas-Diaz (pictured), who is current president of the Cuban American Bar Association, and Barbara Ferrer. Other attorneys making the move to Holland & Knight are Anna Marie Hernandez and Isabel Diaz as senior counsels, as well as associate Rebecca Mendez. Holland & Knight has more than 35 real estate professionals in its South Florida offices.

Katten Muchin Rosenman LLPLisa Dunsky has joined the law firm's Chicago office as a partner in its financial services practice. Dunsky was previously the former executive director and associate general counsel at CME Group Inc. Before that, she served as counsel at Mayer Brown LLP, as well as a senior attorney at BP America Inc.

Piper Jaffray & Co. — The investment bank hired Charles Duncan as a managing director and senior research analyst for biotechnology. He will be based in New York. Previously, Duncan served as an analyst at JMP Securities since 2002.
