Dechert LLP — The law firm hired Andrew Hulsh as a corporate partner in New York. Hulsh was most recently a partner at Mayer Brown LLP, where he was co-leader of the firm’s North American private equity practice.


Editure Professional Development — The private equity-backed organization that provides consulting services to students in preschool through 12th grade has hired Sheena Hervey as chief academic officer. Editure was combined with JBHM Education Group in September following the acquisition of both companies by Weld North Holdings LLC, an investment company founded by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. and former Kaplan Inc. chief executive Jonathan Grayer. Prior to joining Editure, Hervey was a consultant at Aussie, which was acquired by Editure PD in 2009, where she provided research-based professional development for teachers and workshops for principals.


Foley & Lardner LLPRobert Lee (pictured) has joined the firm as a partner in the firm’s Orlando and Miami offices, where he will be a part of the transactional and securities practice for China and Latin America. Prior to joining Foley, Lee was a partner with Diaz, Reus & Targ, LLP.


General Atlantic LLC — The private equity firm announced that Sandeep Naik has joined as a managing director and head of the firm's Mumbai office in India. Naik will lead General Atlantic's investment advisory activity in India as part of the firm's strategy to invest in growth companies in emerging markets. Naik was previously a partner and co-head of the India office for Apax Partners. Prior to that, he was global marketing manager at Medtronic Inc. (NYSE: MDT). He is also the co-founder of medical device firm InfraScan Inc., which detects bleeding inside the brain using a handheld device.


Ramius LLC — The investment management subsidiary of Cowen Group Inc. (Nasdaq: COWN) named Michael Singer chief executive officer. He will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations. Also announced was Thomas Strauss’ promotion to chairman of Ramius and vice-chairman of Cowen. In this position, he will focus on expanding global relationships and partnerships in the asset management business.


Warburg Pincus LLC — The private equity firm has appointed Lee Kranefuss as an executive-in-residence. Kranefuss, previously chief executive officer of iShares, a group of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) managed by BlackRock. Kranefuss will help Warburg Pincus identify and evaluate investment opportunities in the areas of ETFs, index investing and asset management, particularly in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
