CVC Capital Partners — The private equity firm has appointed James Schiro as a senior adviser to the firm. Schiro will become a member of CVC’s U.S. and global financial institutions advisory boards to support investment activities in the financial services sector globally.


Dechert LLPLewis Ho joined the law firm's Hong Kong office as a partner in the corporate and securities practice. Ho, most recently a resident partner in the Beijing office at Simmons & Simmons LLP, advises clients in the life sciences, technology and telecommunications sectors on patent litigation and intellectual property matters.


JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM) — The investment bank’s chief financial officer Douglas Braunstein is expected to step down from his current position and take on another post within the company. Various reports indicate that the decision was his and that Braunstein may return to more of a banking role.


Lincoln International — Michael Weber and Nick Konstantinou are joining the investment bank as managing directors. Previously, Weber and Konstantinou co-led the healthcare practice at BB&T Capital Markets. James Gilmore and Phillip Knotts, also from BB&T, were hired by Lincoln as director and vice president, respectively. They are each expected to help grow the firm’s coverage in the healthcare and medical products sectors.


MLV & Co. — The boutique investment bank has opened an office in Houston, with the goal of expanding its coverage and suite of offerings within the oil and gas sector. William Conroy joined MLV as an equity analyst in oilfield services, while Brad Deason and Bill McMackin were named institutional salesmen. In addition to its Houston office, MLV has offices in New York, Denver and San Francisco.


Morrison & Foerster LLP — The law firm added a partner to its London office. David Bresnick, previously of CMS Cameron McKenna in London, has joined the firm and is expected to represent technology and telecommunications companies. His arrival comes on the heels of Morrison & Foerster’s hiring of partner Justin Stock, as a means of expanding its private equity and cross-border transactional capabilities.


Portico Capital — The private equity firm appointed Giles Roshier as head of Europe. The move coincides with Portico's opening of a London office. Roshier joined the firm in September from Lazard where he worked for 13 years, most recently within the investment bank's media practice.
