CIT Group Inc. (NYSE: CIT) — The firm appointed Blake Macaskill (pictured) as managing director of CIT Canada. In this role he will oversee the Canadian businesses of CIT Global Vendor Finance and CIT Corporate Finance. Most recently, Macaskill was with De Lage Landen, a subsidiary of Rabobank. Prior to that, he held senior positions with GE Capital Vendor Finance and GE Capital Fleet Services. For more coverage of CIT, see the December 2011 cover story, "Looking Ahead."


Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) — James Cleary, former president of El Paso Corp.’s Western Pipeline Group, has joined GIP and will focus on identifying and managing investments involving natural gas, and crude oil assets. Cleary, a 25-year veteran in the interstate pipeline industry, will be joined by Thomas Price and Pat Johnson, both of whom had been part of the pipeline executive team at El Paso, as well as Derek Wedel who had been a senior engineering and construction manager at El Paso. They will each be based in Colorado Springs, Colo.


Morgan Joseph TriArtisan LLC — The investment bank hired Stephen Robb as a managing director in the firm’s consumer, retail and leisure segment. Robb was previously a managing director and head of the retail, consumer and restaurant investment banking group at Cantor Fitzgerald & Co., after leaving Credit Suisse, where he spent the majority of his career and last served as a senior coverage.


Smart Devine — The accounting, tax and advisory firm named John McGonigal a managing director. Prior to joining Smart Devine, McGonigal spent more than 21 years with Ernst & Young as a partner in the assurance and advisory business services group.


TA Associates — The private equity firm named three new vice presidents. Ethan Liebermann and Emily McGinty have both rejoined the firm in the healthcare and consumer group in Boston, while Jason Mironov was hired for TA’s services group in Menlo Park, Calif. McGinty and Liebermann each previously served as associates at TA, where they were responsible for investment origination, transaction execution and portfolio management. Before that, Liebermann served as an analyst with Banc of America Securities, while McGinty was an analyst with J.P. Morgan Securities. Mironov previously served as an associate with Spectrum Equity Investors. He was also an analyst with J.P. Morgan Securities.
