Private equity-backed Winchester Electronics Corp. has acquired Haverhill Cable and Manufacturing Corp.
The Haverhill, Mass.-based target produces coaxial cable and cable assemblies that are used by the commercial, military and satellite equipment industries. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Winchester, headquartered in Middlebury, Conn., designs and makes connectivity products, including connectors and cables, for the medical, military, energy, broadcast and industrial markets. The deal should expand Winchester’s manufacturing capabilities.
The buyer is backed by private equity firm Audax Private Equity. Since Audax’s June 2006 acquisition of Winchester, the company has made eight add-on acquisitions, including, Advanced Interconnect Inc., Kings Electronics Corp. Inc., Electrical Specialty products Inc., Clements National Co., Continental Connector Co., Bomar Interconnect Products and SRC Cables Inc.
Boston-based Audax is also invested in API Heat Transfer, Elgin Equipment Group and Utex Industries. The firm has invested more than $2.5 billion in 70 platform investments.
