Private equity firm Industrial Opportunity Partners has purchased Western Tool Supply.

Salem, Ore.-based Western Tool distributes fastening tools and supplies to the construction and industrial industries. The products include hand-held staplers, tapers, marking and labeling products and shrink wrappers.

The Evanston, Ill.-based buyer bought Western Tool through Carlson Systems, in which it invested in 2009. Omaha, Neb.-based Carlson distributes product assembly systems that provide stapling and packaging services to the construction and industrial markets.

Industrial Opportunity invests in middle market manufacturing companies with sales between $30 million and $350 million. The firm has $460 million in committed capital under management. Its other investments include E.B. Bradley Co., Edelbrock LLC and Kuss Filtration Inc.
