Nexon Co. Ltd. is buying Thingsoft, an online game development studio, for an undisclosed amount.
Thingsoft, headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, develops online free-to-play games. The company is working on developing Sangokushi Sousouden Online and Project NT.
Tokyo-based Nexon also develops free-to-play online games.
Nexon is buying Thingsoft through a subsidiary, Neople.
Other recent video game deals include Activision Blizzard Inc.’s agreement to buy a stake in the “Call of Duty” and “World of Warcraft” developer, and SGN’s acquisition of Mob Science, a game developer.
