MW Industries has acquired Maudlin & Son Manufacturing for an undisclosed amount.

Maudlin, headquartered in Kemah, Texas, manufactures slotted shims and other supplies for the industrial sector.

Rosemont, Illinois-based MW Industries says it expects Maudlin to expand in the energy, machining and other industrial markets. The buyer provides engineered springs, fasteners, machined parts and other components to the aerospace, medical, electronics, energy, agriculture, automotive and military markets. MW has made acquisitions before, including Mohawk Spring Corp. in July 2013, and says it is looking at making further acquisitions.

MW Industries is backed by San Francisco private equity firm Genstar Capital.  Another of the firm's portfolio companies, Pretium Packaging, made an acquisition in December, picking up Tri-Delta Plastics to add containers and bottles to its offerings.
