Mooreland Partners expanded its London office with the addition of Victor Garcia.

Garcia comes from Nomura, where he served as executive director of its European investment banking team. From 2002 forward, Garcia worked on and sourced cross-border deals and financing transactions across the technology and clean energy sectors.

Prior to joining Nomura, Garcia was a member of Broadview International’s M&A advisory practice (the firm has since been acquired by Jefferies). He also worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers in London, where he worked on the firm’s international business structuring group.

Holt Thrasher, founder of Mooreland and its managing directors, said the addition of Garcia helps extend his firm’s capacity to handle clean energy and tech clients in what he called key sectors.

Mooreland Partners provides advisory services to technology and services companies globally. Earlier this year, Mooreland also added Bob McNamara and Scot Sedlacek, both veterans of Jefferies & Co.

Clean energy mandates are expected to draw interest to the energy sector in the near term; US private equity firms NGP Energy Technology Partners and Tenaska Capital Management LLC recently closed funds to make tech investments.
