Modernizing Medicine Inc. has closed the acquisitions of Aesyntix Health Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

Aesyntix, headquartered in Roseville, California, offers billing services, inventory management and group purchasing for physicians. The deal closed on Dec. 22 and was announced Dec. 30.

Boca Raton, Florida-based Modernizing Medicine develops a cloud-based electronic medical records system called Electronic Medical Assistant. The deal allows the buyer to provide revenue cycle management, inventory management and other services.

Health care companies have been bulking up on technology-related services as the Affordable Care Act drives more patients into the health care system and providers look to keep costs in line. Recent deals in the space include GI Partners' acquisition of Logibec Inc., which provides administrative systems to health care groups, and Global Healthcare Exchange's deal for Vendormate, which provides vendor-relationship management software to health care providers.
