Private equity firm Littlejohn & Co. has completed an investment in Newgistics Inc.

Newgistics, headquartered in Austin, Texas, provides e-commerce services to retailers. The company managers and fills order, and manages delivery and returns. Terms of the investment were not disclosed.

Newgistics, in August, bought Tacit Knowledge Inc., digital commerce consulting group. Littlejohn’s investment should help Newgistics grow, the company says in a statement.

Greenwich, Conn.-based Littlejohn invests in middle-market companies that are undergoing changes in growth, capital structure, strategy or operations. The firm is currently investing from Littlejohn Fund IV LP, which has more than $1.3 billion in committed capital. In August, the firm recapitalized Handy Hardware Wholesale Inc., a hardware distributor.

In May, Littlejohn invested in Gulf Coast Shipyard Group Inc., which manufactures marine vessels.
