Learfield Sports has acquired Nelligan Sports Marketing in a move to expand its college multimedia rights.

Nelligan, headquartered in Little Falls, N.J. provides sales and marketing services to sports teams. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Plano, Texas-based Learfield Sports owns the multimedia rights to 56 college athletic programs, conferences and athletic ventures, including the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Ky. The company also has a collegiate ticket sales joint venture with IMG College, called IMG Learfield Ticket Solutions, and provides concessions services.

The announcement comes after Silver Lake Management LLC and William Morris Endeavor Entertainment LLC agreed to buy IMG Worldwide Inc., an entertainment and sports talent agency.

Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP advised Learfield on the acquisition with a team that included partner Kevin Sullivan, and associates Corey Brown, Matt Cohn and Michael Ginzburg.
