KVH Industries Inc. (Nasdaq: KVHI) has acquired Headland Media Ltd. for $24 million.

Headland, headquartered in Liverpool, England, provides commercially licensed news, sports, movies and music content for the maritime, hotel and retail markets.

The target’s services are provided to 9,600 vessels, 1,700 hotels and 1,700 retail outlets.

Middletown, R.I.-based KVH provides high-speed Internet, television and voice services via satellite to users at sea, on land or in the air. The deal allows KVH to extend its maritime broadband service.
