KKR & Co LP (NYSE: KKR) has taken over Mitchell International Inc., a provider of claims technology and software service, from Aurora Capital Group for an undisclosed price.

The San Diego-based target assists insurance carriers and collision repair facilities by managing automotive and workers' compensation insurance claims.

Under Aurora, Mitchell grew through a number of add-on deals, including payment services company National Health Quest Inc. in 2012 for an undisclosed price. The Los Angeles seller first purchased Mitchell in 2007 for about $500 million from Hellman & Friedman LLC.

The transaction comes on the heels of two other recent exits for Aurora. In July, the private equity firm sold Adco Global to Arsenal Capital Partners. Also in July, Aurora agreed to sell Miami Valley Steel Service, which it acquired in 2010, to DDJ Capital Management.

As for KKR, the New York-based private equity firm has invested more than $10 billion in various sectors, including telecommunications, technology and services sectors.
