Kindred Healthcare Inc. (NYSE: KND) is buying nine nursing centers for $83 million.

The deal rids Kindred of expenses since the company already leases the nursing centers from HCP Inc. (NYSE: HCP).

Louisville, Ky.-based Kindred provides post-acute care services.

The transaction follows the company’s Nov. 4 agreement to buy Senior Home Care Inc., which has 47 nursing homes, for $95 million.

In September, Kindred sold 16 health care facilities to Vibra Healthcare LLCfor $186.5 million. The company said the buildings were outside of its designated integrated care markets.
