Kenan Advantage Group has acquired RTS-Westcan Group of Cos.
RTS-Westcan, headquartered in Edmonton, Canada, provides bulk transportation and logistics services, primarily hauling liquid and dry bulk commodities. The company mainly serves western Canada. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
North Canton, Ohio-based Kenan Advantage is a tank truck transporter and logistics provider to the petroleum, specialty products and merchant gas industries.
The company was backed by Calgary private equity firm TriWest Capital Partners. TriWest has about $775 million in committed capital under management through four funds.
Frank Mountcastle, Jason Bass, Joe Conner, Jershon Jones and Jeff Kidd from Harris Williams & Co. advised RTL-Westcan on the deal.
Other recent logistics deals include Knight Transportation Inc.’s (NYSE: KNX) $95 million offer for USA Truck Inc., and Roadrunner Transportation Systems Inc.’s (NYSE: RRTS) deal for some of Transport Corporation of America Inc.’s assets.
