Intertek Group plc has acquired Global X-Ray & Testing Corp., the latest in a stream of M&A for companies that serve the oil and gas industry.

Morgan City, La.-based Global X-Ray provides nondestructive testing services to the oil and gas industries. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Intertek, headquartered in London, provides inspection, testing, training and quality assurance services to a variety of sectors, including energy. Global X-Ray should complement the company’s existing inspection services.

Buyers have been acquiring companies that provide services to the oil and gas industries. In September, private equity firm Clayton Dubilier & Rice bought Brand Energy & Infrastructure Corp. to combine it into a joint venture with Harsco Corp.’s (NYSE: HSC) infrastructure division, which provides services to natural gas fields and other types of projects. In August, Actuant Corp. (NYSE: ATU) bought Viking SeaTech, which provides equipment and services to the offshore oil and gas industry.
