International Chemical Investors Group is buying Peptisyntha SA.

Peptisyntha, headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, manufactures peptides for pharmaceutical use. The peptides are manufactured by linking amino acids together. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

After the deal closes, Peptisyntha will become part of International Chemical’s CordenPharma group as its third company offering peptides manufacturing. CordenPharma is the pharmaceutical branch of International Chemicals. 

Luxembourg-based International Chemicals is a holding company for mid-sized chemical and pharmaceutical businesses. The company has acquired 19 businesses since it was founded in 2004. The company has manufacturing sites in the U.S. and Europe.

Other recent pharmaceutical deals include Akorn Inc.’s (Nasdaq: AKRX) purchase of Hi-Tech Pharmaceutical Co. Inc. (Nasdaq: HITK), and Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corp.’s acquisition of Medicago Inc. (TSX: MDG) for $357 million.
