Insight Venture Partners has purchased Anaqua Inc. and SGA2 SAS from Beacon Equity Partners.

Beacon founded Anaqua Inc., a provider of intellectual property software, in 2005.  SGA2 is a Pau, France-based company that provides patent annuity and trademark renewal services. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Insight Venture Partners, headquartered in New York, is a private equity and venture capital firm founded in 1995. Its portfolio companies include Flipboard, Card Scanning Solutions and Zumba Fitness.

Beacon is a Boston-based private equity firm that invests in software and services companies.

Marks Baughan & Co. acted as Beacon’s financial adviser, while GTC Law Group LLP & Affiliates provided legal advice.
