Test-preparation company Kaplan has acquired Dev Bootcamp for an undisclosed amount.

Dev Bootcamp develops training tools for software programmers. The service is designed to give users coding skills needed to secure entry-level positions in software development jobs in nine weeks.

The deal helps Kaplan get into the market for training software developers. The company provides higher education, test preparation, professional training and other programs. The group is part of Graham Holdings Co. (NYSE: GHC). In July 2013, Kaplan bought test-preparation assets and social learning service Grockit Inc.

The deal follows several other e-learning transactions. Earlier in June, MasteryConnect agreed to buy Socrative, which provides tools for teachers. In May, Falfurrias Capital Partners bought a majority stake in American Safety Council Inc., an e-learning business that provides training to several professional groups.
