Houghton Mifflin Harcourt is buying Tribal Nova, an educational technology company, for an undisclosed amount.

Tribal Nova develops digital games, products and services aimed at preschool children. The company’s products include ILearnWith, IReadWith and KidCore.

Houghton Mifflin expects the deal to increase its capacity for developing education online games. The Tribal Nova team will continue to be located in Montreal, but will be integrated into Houghton Mifflin’s content and product innovation group.

The buyer is a publishing house based in Boston. In November, Houghton Milfflin bought “Webster’s New World Dictionary,” “CliffsNotes” and other assets from John Wiley & Sons Inc. (NYSE: JWa, JWb). For more, see "With Dealmakers, School is Still in Session."
