Arlington, Va.-based FBR Capital Markets continues to build out its staff, adding three new managing directors to its investment banking group, targeting mostly the financial services space.

Bob Brown arrives from Goldman Sachs, where he served as a member of the firm's financial institutions group. Before Goldman, Brown put in stints at Lehman Brothers and Coopers & Lybrand.

Larry Goldsmith, joining FBR's real estate group, arrives from Banc of America Securities. He was previously a managing director, and earlier in his career spent time at Credit Suisse First Boston and Montgomery Securities, which was subsumed by BofA.

Andrew Guida, meanwhile, comes from Morgan Stanley. There, he served as a managing director in the firm's European FIG group, following separate stints with JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Capital Access Corp.

FBR has placed an emphasis on personnel in recent months. The firm, earlier in September, completed a deal to acquire New York-based M&A boutique Watch Hill Partners, a transaction that brought David Knowlton and company under the FBR umbrella. The deal followed an announcement in June that FBR had made senior hires for its energy, industrials and technology groups.
