Lower middle-market specialist Evolution Capital Partners has invested in software group Knowledge Center.

Headquartered in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, Knowledge Center provides emergency management software tools that allow government, health care, commercial and nonprofit organizations to monitor and respond to incidents in real time.

The deal follows on the heels of Evolution's June investment in Cascade Healthcare Services LLC, a provider of health care training and staffing services. The Cleveland private equity firm is currently invested in Axiom Sales Force Development, Lewellyn Technology LLC and Turf Ventures LLC. In a similar investment, private equity firm Riverside Co. made a majority investment in Arcos, which provides software that aims to help crews restore power, fix gas and water leaks and handle other work in power plants, in November. Also on July 16, the Riverside Co. made an add-on acquisition to Emergency Communications Network, picking up Dean Alert
